LiveWell membership highlights

More support for navigating healthcare costs

LiveWell combines national provider access with cost-saving support and member services. Eligibility, limits, program terms, and the Membership Guidelines apply.

2026 LiveWell Membership Guidelines • Effective January 1, 2026

First Health PPO Network

Members use the First Health HealthShare Network as the primary medical network within their service area. The NCQA-accredited national network includes more than 5,800 hospitals, 152,000 ancillary facilities, and over one million professional providers. In the provider locator, select “First Health network,” then confirm new-patient status, location, and participation before receiving care.

Billing Negotiations

Eligible medical needs billed at $5,000 or more are reviewed by a negotiations team that works directly with the provider to seek the best available discount. Members must cooperate, provide requested documentation, and respond within 14 days so the medical need does not become ineligible for sharing.

Financial Assistance

During billing negotiations, members may be asked to complete a Family Information Sheet and provider financial-assistance applications. This can help the team pursue deeper discounts or other available assistance. Approval is not guaranteed, and timely member participation is required.

Discount Prescriptions

LiveWell includes access to prescription savings. Members can use the HealthWallet app to compare prices, and current program materials describe generic acute prescriptions, maintenance prescriptions through home delivery, and brand-name discounts. Formularies, fulfillment methods, pricing, and availability may change.

Network participation, discounts, financial-assistance eligibility, formularies, fulfillment methods, and program terms can change. Always verify current details and review the Membership Guidelines.

Build a personalized LiveWell comparison

Answer four non-medical questions to see estimated monthly contributions and the most relevant next steps. This educational tool does not determine membership eligibility, sharing eligibility, or whether a healthcare sharing ministry is appropriate for you.

Who would participate in the membership?

Choose the household category used in the current LiveWell contribution table.

Contribution amounts are estimates based on the current 2026 table and can change. This tool does not account for all fees, donations, medical expenses, MRAs, co-shares, waiting periods, limitations, exclusions, or other obligations. Caring & Sharing is not insurance, and members remain self-pay patients.

Contribution comparison tool

Compare scheduled monthly payments

Enter the monthly premium you currently pay and select an age band and household category. The tool compares only scheduled premiums with estimated LiveWell monthly contributions; it does not compare total healthcare costs or benefits.

Enter premiums only. Do not include medical bills, deductibles, copays, or prescription spending.
Important comparison limitation

This is not a savings guarantee or an apples-to-apples insurance comparison. Caring & Sharing is not insurance. Monthly contributions are not premiums, the MRA is not an insurance deductible, sharing is not guaranteed, and members remain responsible for their medical bills. Review all fees, contributions, MRAs, co-shares, waiting periods, limitations, exclusions, and current Guidelines before making a decision.

Popular questions

A simple member experience

How healthcare sharing works

Members contribute monthly, eligible medical needs are reviewed under the Membership Guidelines, and shareable amounts are paid from the membership escrow account.

  1. 1

    Join the community

Complete the enrollment application, agree to the Statement of Standards, and submit the required contribution and Membership Commitment Form.

  2. 2

    Use your membership

Choose a provider, show your virtual member ID card, and ask the provider to follow the billing instructions on the card.

  3. 3

    Needs are reviewed

Caring & Sharing determines eligibility, applies the applicable MRA or co-share, and sends an Explanation of Sharing.

  4. 4

    Eligible amounts are shared

Shareable amounts are paid directly to the provider, or the member may be reimbursed when eligible self-pay expenses are properly submitted.

Not a claims process

Members share eligible medical needs; they do not file insurance claims.

You remain responsible for your medical expenses as a self-pay patient. Eligibility is determined under the current Membership Guidelines.

Important timing, limits, and responsibilities

This page is a consumer overview, not the complete Membership Guidelines. The Guidelines and enrollment documents control eligibility and sharing.

Office and urgent care

Six eligible visits per member each year

Household visits may be pooled. LiveWell members pay a $35 co-share, and the membership shares up to $300 per eligible visit.

Primary and specialist office visits have a 90-day waiting period; urgent care does not.
Emergency room

For serious, emergent needs

For an eligible emergency room visit, members pay a $500 co-share and the membership may share up to $5,000 per incident.

Routine and non-emergency ER use is not eligible for sharing.
Pre-existing conditions

A 10-year look-back applies

Prior advice or treatment may result in a two-year, five-year, or lifetime limitation depending on the condition.

Medical records may be reviewed when sharing is requested.
Cancer

Separate cancer MRA and limits

Cancer treatment generally has a 90-day waiting period, with screening requirements and a service-specific Cancer MRA.

Year 1 cancer sharing is limited to $10,000 after the applicable $4,000 Cancer MRA.
Maternity

Separate $5,000 maternity MRA

For eligible maternity needs, the maximum is $12,000 in membership year 1 and $25,000 in membership year 2 and later.

Eligibility rules, waiting periods, and Statement of Standards requirements apply.
Effective date

Membership starts on the first of a selected month

Apply by the last day of a month for an effective date on the first of the next month or a later selected month.

The first monthly contribution and Membership Commitment Form are required before needs become eligible.
30day member experience

During the first 30 days, you may decide the membership is not the right fit and request return of your first month’s contribution. The application fee and ministry donation are non-refundable, and medical needs arising during that period are not shared when the membership is discontinued under the trial terms.

Common questions

Understand healthcare sharing before deciding

Review these basics, then read the full Membership Guidelines for definitions, exclusions, state notices, and service-specific rules.

Read the Membership Guidelines
Is Caring & Sharing health insurance?

No. Caring & Sharing is a Healthcare Sharing Ministry. Members are self-pay patients, and membership is not offered through an insurance company.

Does the membership have a deductible?

No insurance deductible applies. Members select a Member Responsibility Amount, or MRA, that applies before sharing begins for eligible medical needs subject to that MRA. Other co-shares and service-specific MRAs may apply.

Can I use any provider?

Members may seek care from a provider of their choice, but the First Health HealthShare Network is the primary network for preferred access and discounts. Verify the provider’s current participation before care.

Who can apply?

Applicants and qualified dependents must meet membership qualifications and agree to the Statement of Standards. The LiveWell materials describe an upper enrollment age of 64, with additional rules for spouses, dependents, and newborns.

Are pre-existing conditions shared?

Pre-existing conditions may be subject to two-year, five-year, or lifetime limitations based on the Membership Guidelines and medical-record review.

When can membership become effective?

An applicant may select the first day of the next month or a later month. The enrollment application, required fees or donation, first contribution, and Membership Commitment Form must be completed as described in the Guidelines.

How do I enroll online?

When the site administrator enables a secure enrollment link, the Enroll Now buttons open that application in a new tab. Until then, submit the request-information form so a representative can help.
